Black Narcissus

Himalayas, 1934. A remote clifftop palace once known as the ‘House of Women’ holds many dark secrets. When the young nuns of St. Faith attempt to establish a mission there, its haunting mysteries awaken forbidden desires that seem destined to repeat a terrible tragedy. Adaptation of the 1939 novel by Rumer Godden. The show follows Sister Clodagh and the nuns of St Faiths, who travel to Nepal to set up a branch of their order in the remote palace of Mopu. It will tell the story of the nuns’ sexual repression which forms the spine of the story, as Sister Clodagh finds herself increasingly attracted to the handsome and damaged land agent, Mr. Dean.
