Sheriff's deputy Rick Grimes awakens from a coma to find a post-apocalyptic world dominated by flesh-eating zombies. He sets out to find his family and encounters many other survivors along the way. The Walking Dead is an American television series that follows survivors of a zombie apocalypse. The series is a gritty drama portrayal of Rick Grimes’ group, his family and other survivors as they find themselves always on the move in hope of finding a safe and secure home for themselves. The most watched horror-drama series today stars Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes, Jon Bernthal as Shane Walsh, Sarah Wayne Callies as Lori Grimes , Laurie Holden as Andrea, Jeffrey DeMunn as Dale Horvath, Steven Yeun as as Glenn, Norman Reedus as Daryl Dixon, and Chandler Riggs as Carl Grimes. Meanwhile, the popularity of The Walking Dead leads to AMC to create and produce a spin-off series which covers the earliest days of the zombie apocalypse which is the prequel of the series.
